Much colour is being given to caste in India. Castes were based on professions. For instance, teachers or preachers were Brahmins, fighters against enemies of the country were Khatries, whereas producers of food were Vaish. The servants of these three castes were shudras. With the change of profession, castes were changed in the beginning and it must be changed in the present era as well easily. The idea behind the whole discussion is ‘that man is man irrespective of his religion, language or caste etc. To ensure that young Daleep Singh, the last Sikh ruler of the kingdom of Ranjit Singh should not become a rallying point for the people of Punjab, he was surreptiously converted to Christianity and hurriedly sent to England. To minimize all chances of his return to Punjab and claiming sovereignty after becoming major, he was made to marry princess Victoria Gouramma of Coorg. She was also Indian convert to Christianity and settled in Elveden Estate near Cambridge specially purchased for the young prince. Here a ceremony was arranged in which young Deleep Singh was made to present the famous Koh-i-Noor to Queen Victoria and 13 most valuable relics pertaining to Maharaja Ranjit Singh to the prince of Wales. The remaining jewelry in the Tokhakhana was either taken over by the British officials in India or auctioned to public. Thus, glory and grandeur of the mighty empire of a mighty ruler was finished. In his life time, the first Guru, Guru Nanak Dev Ji undertook great four journeys on foot in company with Bala and Mardana (disciples) to teach lessons of divinity and true & ideal human life and to eradicate wrong customs, beliefs, rituals and traditions prevailing in social fabric of India, just like customs of Sati’ prevailing in those days. It is worth mentioning that Guru Nanak also travelled beyond India up to China, Lunca, Sikkam, Bhutan, Nepal, Mukka & Madina in Iran and upto Afghanistan, and other adjoining territories. All of us must take serious note of this historical happening and appreciate that how difficult it was to travel on foot five centuries ago unto the distant places and lands, when there was hardly any means and modes of travelling and communication. The names of Sikh Gurus are : 1. Guru Nanak Devji, 2. Guru Angad Devji, 3. Guru Amardas ji, 4. Guru Ram Dassji, 5. Guru Arjun Devji, 6. Guru Hargobind Sahib ji, 7. Guru Har Rai Sahib ji, 8.
